Please keep in mind that I am only showing you
the form or shapes of the system and then only the external stern mounted segments.
There were so many other changes made to its
internal components it will take me quite awhile to cover it all.

I can tell you it does not include any description of the steering assembly
nor does he supply any notes or specifications for building one.

October 1949
When the boat was originaly launched in October 1949, it had a single center rudder and
direct steering with 4-19 steel
cable.Attached to a quadrant on transom
April 1950
In April Anchor Jensen came up with the idea of using two rudders to see if they would have a tunnel drive effect. The force of the water off the prop continually bent the port rudder
almost and inch and a half
June 1950-51
Anchors solution was to cut the port rudder off and then take her out for a test run. And as they say that was that...although they used this single rudder configuration untill the end the mechanism changed.

Note that Ted had little or no input on these steering designs and he leaves the Slo-mo
team in Sept of 1951. But the design work continues

June 1952

Here again the mechanism is modified and a different rudder
added.

June 1954

Then finally Anchor installs the power steering.The original unit was from a Chrysler automobile
and Anchor tweaked and reduced its sensitivity untill it was suitable for operating Slo-mo IV. And he left
the original mechanical steering in place as a backup.
