Here's a recent message from Paul:
I am the new owner of what I think is the Peragrine built by your boat yard
circa 1929! unfortunately I don't have much information on the boat.
The background I have on Peregrine comes primarily from Bill Charles of
Sausalito, the person who sold me the vessel for the owner, David Rosen who
lives in Portland. Apparently, Mr. Rosen
had left no paperwork or documentation when he moved to Portland. Title
searches and inquiries to the Coast Guard have not turned up anything
either. Acquaintances from the marinas of Sausalito
and even strangers have related stories about Peregrine that testify to
their appreciation of the boat but that dont really contribute much to
establish a working history.

Peregrine was Built circa 1929, at the Jensen Motorboat Co., Washington.
She was designed by Tony Jensen for (an Italian Ambassador?) Mr. Bohn.
Peregrines main cabin below deck was
modified for two births and hanging closets around WWII, and used by the
Coastguard to patrol the west coast. Not much is available to substantiate
this little bit of history. Found onboard are
dozens of old charts that document trips along the west Coast from Seattle
to as far South as LA. With dates that span from the 30s though the 50s.
If these represent trips made by Peregrine,
perhaps they can help to establish a more complete history
Word of mouth tells me that Peregrine has been in San Francisco Bay area at
least since the 70s. During that time she had various owners, and was used
primarily as a live-a-board. Fortunately, no
significant changes where made to the vessel during that time.
Unfortunately, Peregrine has suffered years of deferred maintenance. There
was extensive electrolysis, necessitating the replacement of shaft,
propeller, and all through-hulls. Most bright work had
been let go and painted surfaces had as many as 9 coats of paint. Deck
canvas was ripped in spots, allowing winter rains into the boat. Dry rot,
however, is surprisingly minimal. thanks to the
original quality construction and relatively benign climate of the San
Francisco Bay Area..
