Slomoshun
Note:The original Slomoshun
had no numerical suffix
nor was it hyphenated. Hyphenation
of the name started with Slo-mo-shun III

"Red" is the color most
associated with the Slomoshun
hydros, so I have incorporated
it into the names. Although the names were usually painted in
and orange Gold. Actual Color
spec is Z-Spar "Tahiti Yellow",
Red, is Woolsey, Bright Red 751

Slomoshun

This is Stan cruising along in Slomoshun. This 225 CC
boat was built by Ventnor in Atlantic City New Jersey. The Boat
was purchased from Jack "pops" Cooper the incredible record
breaking Hydro driver who later sells Stan "Tops III".
The writing on the top of the photo was done at a much later
date, and as I indicated in my note to the left ,and as you can clearly see
on the boat, that the name is simply Slomoshun. Matt Foss
who is Stan Sayres grandson, is researching information along with his
dad Oliver Foss ,from the Sayres archives to be used in the
Stan Sayres segment of this website. Matt said that his grandmother
Madeline Sayres came up with the name. The explanation will be part
of Stan's Story. The Slomoshun sank in Lake Washington. details to follow.

To be continued

No-mo-shun: Stanley Sayres also had a dinghy, that is still around today,
that he named the "No-mo-shun" I'll get a picture of Stan in his dinghy posted here
soon.
