The Nomoshun and Penn in 1971 on Camano Island

This is the Nomoshun and one of Stan Sayres' grandsons,
Penn Andrews. Stan used to paddle around his home on Hunts
Point with his daughter Sharon's children when they were only
a few years old, and they would usually be accompanied
by Stans' ever present pal, the family dog Gilly.
Stan was probably thinking as he paddled around,
Gee, I wonder how fast I can make this thing go. Anyone
think we can stick an Allison engine in this tub.
Unfortunately Sharon Sayres Foss passed away last year;
But she is one of the major reasons this website exists.
She loved her family very much and was very passionate and protective
of their accomplishments.Therefore we are trying to live up to some of her
expectations by attempting to give the public a alternative
source of information upon which to base their judgements about
the real story behind the boats and people who made the Slomoshuns
such a success.
