Naguruk

Naguruk, 1934

Naguruk was built by JMC in 1934 during the depression. Although JMC
was lucky to have any work at all, they were using barter, and whatever they had to, in order to get these boats completed.

They were commisioned by Mr. Johansen who was one of the original partners in JMC, but in 1934, was operating  the Harbor Lighterage Company in Nome, Alaska. They were built to stand up to very tough weather and  ice conditions, that were normal for Nome.
