The Slomoshun IV

Most of the high speed boats prior to Slo-mo-shun IV used Cutless Bearings or something very similar. The original drawing by Ted Jones has no specifications for a power plant or gearing sytem. Once Anchor had decided that he was going to use a 3 to 1 step up gear he knew that
he was going to need a bearing that could withstand the 11,000+ rpms without breaking down. Anchor says that once he decided on the gearing he decided on a micarta bearing. He originally tried a Micarta bearing with cotton binding but quickly requested the linen, after discussions with his suppliers.
